The Death Of Don Duncan

Directed by Maya Heinecke | Cinematography by William McAndrew | 2024

The Death of Don Duncan is buddy-comedy short film written and directed by Maya Heinecke. It tells the story of three friends who sneak onto the set of the new DEATH RIDER 7 film, only to accidentally kill the lead actor, Don Duncan. In order to escape the set, and the law, these friends must pull together and form a plan, and if one of the friends can do a great Don impression… well… it’s worth a try, right?

Cinematography for The Death of Don Duncan meant subjectivity. This is a close and personal story that operates at length on a subconscious level. However, it is also a comedy. Cinematic comedy needs conviction, therefore the characters and subsequently the camera must not behave in a way where it is aware of it being funny.
